Real estate, land mafia eyeing property grab of government schools: Education Minister BC Nagesh
Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh said that real estate and land mafia have set their eyes on the precious land of government schools and the government has taken necessary steps to curb the greed.
Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai presented the awards to the best teacher award winners at the Teacher's Day Celebration and State Award for Teachers program held today at the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha.
Then Minister Nagesh spoke. The Learning Recovery Program has been implemented in Karnataka for the first time in the entire country to compensate for the learning lag caused by Covid-19. This program has been specially appreciated by the Central Education Department. The role of teachers is very important in the implementation of this program. Schools started 15 days earlier, cutting the summer vacation for learning recovery.
The teachers cooperated fully. The Minister appreciated that the teachers have done a great job by effectively handling the additional responsibilities given by the government besides teaching the children in alternative ways during Covid-19.
Systematic documentation for land conservation of government schools is in progress for last three months. Registration of three to four thousand schools has already been completed. He said that the process of consolidating the records of seven thousand schools is in progress.
The real estate and land mafias had set their sights on grabbing the property of government schools. Thus, a special campaign is being conducted to protect the property of government schools. Whoever has an eye on the property of government schools, no matter how influential they are, will not let go. Every effort is made to register the property of the schools with the Education Department. Minister said that he will not leave any space.
